The 2016 Chinese Winter Wonderland will give sponsors and vendors maximum benefits from exposure and marketing opportunities. A truly unique event, this is the first and only celebration of its kind in Dorset. The timing of this event will encourage people to consume and prepare for the festive season just like the pre-Christmas Market. The 2 day event celebrates the most important holiday and festivity in Far Eastern countries. The Chinese demographic is the fastest growing ethnic population in Bournemouth (increasing by 52% during 2001-2011). In 2015, it was estimated that there are 1,990+ Chinese people living in Bournemouth; and more than 2,000 members of other Asian nationalities. This means that
not only is the “Chinese market” growing, but the general “interest in Chinese culture” by non-Chinese people is also growing; this is also having a beneficial effect on interest in Asian cultures generally: Chinese New Year is becoming a cultural phenomenon of global importance. Charitable Cause: Your contribution will benefit the local community through different projects by Bournemouth Chinese School such as a Radio station for less able youth, a telephone Help Line to support all less able English speakers breaking down the language barrier and accessing services more easily - boosting quality of life and community cohesion, and counteracting effects of isolation or discrimination, that people from ethnic minority communities sometimes experience.
