The event is approved and strongly supported by the Chinese Embassy, Bournemouth Borough Council and Bournemouth Coastal BID, in which Bournemouth Chinese School is on the organising committee and also one of the benefited charities of the event.

The Chinese school was established in 2000 and registered as a charity in 2001 (charity No. 1087750).

Located at Moordown Community Centre, the Bournemouth Chinese School helps Chinese children, who are born in England, recognize their culture and carry on in the future without losing their heritage.

The School runs every Sunday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, teaching Chinese languages in Mandarin and Cantonese. Children activities running after school include: Kung Fu, Art, Costumes, Dance, and Chinese children poems. BCS also focus on delivering multi-cultural experience to the local community. Working closely with the council, local police, NHS and local schools for over 10 years, BCSis proud to also create opportunity over the years for the less able people (elderly and people with learning difficulties) to train and re-join the work force, allowing them to socialise and leave their isolation.

Working closely with the event committee, Bournemouth Coastal BID provides great support in terms of event marketing, venue preparation and decoration.

A Business Improvement District – or BID – is a way for local businesses to choose to work together to tackle issues which are too large or widespread for any one business to address. Ultimately BIDs are about increasing business levels and raising profits.

The Bournemouth Coastal BID runs from Westbourne to Hengistbury Head as shown on the map here. It is an independent, not-for-profit company with a board of directors drawn from a range of businesses in the BID area (http://coastalbid.co.uk/). The board members are voted through by Bournemouth businesses every 5 years.

Made up of 11 key member organisations and agencies, the Boscombe Regeneration Partnership (BRP) works to make Boscombe a better place to live, work and visit.
